Apple Almond Crisp
A warm and comforting apple crisp with a lightly spiced filling and a golden, crumbly topping. A touch of almond adds subtle depth, making this classic dessert feel just a bit special.

Ingredients
For the filling:
6 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons sugar (adjusted for better balance)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (increased for brightness)
For the topping:
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup rolled oats
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
½ teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch (2-quart) baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, cinnamon, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss until evenly coated.
Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and brown sugar.
Add the butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the topping becomes crumbly.
Stir in the almond extract until evenly incorporated.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
Let cool slightly before serving.

For the best flavor, use a mix of tart and sweet apples. This crisp can be made ahead and gently reheated before serving.
