Grilled Salmon with Lemon Herb Finish

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6–8 oz each)

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil

  • 1–2 sage leaves, finely chopped (optional)

  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the butter, lemon juice, parsley, basil, sage (if using), and black pepper. Stir until smooth and well blended.

  2. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Lightly coat the salmon fillets with a small amount of the herb mixture.

  3. Place the salmon on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the fish is just cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  4. Remove from the grill and finish with a small spoonful of the remaining herb mixture and an extra squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
